California Transcribers and Educators for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CTEBVI) is a non-profit 501c3 professional organization of braille transcribers, educators, parents, students, paraeducators, community members, and other advocates for K-12 blind and low vision students.
We are pleased to announce our return to the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront for our 63rd annual conference, “Expanding Access,” held April 20-23, 2023. Following 60 years of nationally renowned CTEBVI annual conferences, the past two years were held virtually with remarkable success. Our virtual conferences attracted more than 1700 participants from 46 states, three US territories, Canada, and seven additional countries.
Held over four days, our 2023 conference will offer:
- Over 60 individual workshops within three specific focus strands
- A diverse Exhibit Hall including innovative assistive technology demonstrations
- Internationally acclaimed speakers and presenters
- Structured networking opportunities
- Full-day Youth and Parent Institutes for blind and low vision students and their families
- A two-day training seminar for paraeducators
- Scholarships for transcribers, educators, and blind and low vision students
This conference is a unique opportunity for teachers and braille transcribers to share innovative techniques and best practices, build support systems, and hear directly from students.
